This event will take place on private property in Houston, Ohio (Shelby County). Address will be shared with registrants. Participants will tour high-quality habitat and learn about prescribed fire and pollinators.
Two days before the event, you will receive address of the event, driving directions, and any other necessary details to the email you used to register.
During the workshop, we will walk ~1.5 miles on a gravel driveway and mowed grass paths through rolling terrain. Accommodations may be made for those needing assistance traveling long distance on foot. The field walk will feature presentations and discussions about:
Pollinator habitat and ecology
Habitat establishment and maintenance
Invasive plant species identification and treatment
Prescribed fire in grassland and woodland settings
Demos of equipment utilized during habitat management and prescribed fire
USDA Farm Bill Conservation Programs
Lunch and water will be provided, and a restroom will be onsite.
